What is Sequin?

Sequin is a new way to connect to third-party services like as Salesforce, Shopify, and GitHub. We remove all HTTP API limitations, such as rate limits, refresh tokens, custom query parameters, and pagination.

Sequin provides everything you need to develop an integration:

1. An easy approach to query live data.

Sequin syncs real-time API data to a Postgres database. This means that you can query your data indefinitely using SQL or an ORM.

Sequin currently supports Postgres databases, with support for more databases expected in late 2024.

2. A method for subscribing to changes (i.e. data inserts, updates, and deletions).

Sequin sends updates to an event stream. Sequin hosts a Kafka cluster for the event stream. It covers all of the changes made to the API.

You can consume events over Kafka, REST, or webhooks.

3. A method for rewriting changes.

Sequin records changes made in Postgres and sends them back to the API. Because updates are written synchronously, they are validated and there is no drift between the API and your database.

All of this means that you can read and write SQL without ever reviewing API documentation.
