WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
The safe is of good quality, and is manufactured in China. I purchased this as a short term solution before buying a larger US Made Safe. Pros The product is exactly as described, and there are not really any hidden details. The cons This safe has a small footprint. The thing that I did not expect was that it will require a wall anchor, unlike a larger footprint safe. I find it challenging to have a review if you do not have a weight or if you cannot secure it to a wall.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
My husband loved it. It arrived quickly. We will be moving to our new home. I will be looking into other products this company has. It is worth the cost and gives you peace of mind that we are supporting a local company. Thank you.
Great pistol storage, we are using it in our RV. The window treatments were too large for the room to fit. But it was worth the wait. We also had the inside light and could insert two pistols with extra clips which is very nice. I use this in my RV for consistent storage, not concealment. It is nice to know that our firearms are always in the same safe and accessible location because things tend to roll and move in a mobile RV. I am thinking of purchasing one for the house and then a few for Christmas gifts.
It really is a nice display piece. It is a great finish and good workmanship.
The photographs on the internet do not accurately portray the event.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I looked at all the safes available on Amazon, and found this safe to be the most effective. A safe built with many materials is harder to break into, so I was looking for heavy duty safes that are harder to break into. Read several Amazon reviews to find what I was looking for. The overall package had every single feature I was looking for. It is 450 pounds design with digital number pad entry with backup keys. Free light up display turn keypad sound on or off theft deterrent alarm ability to turn off/on. There are two electrical and two USB ports inside to charge your stuff. It also has sleek dark powder coat and LED lights on the inside. I am unsure what additional features you would want in a safe. I am very satisfied with the purchase.
The Heritage Security 24 gun safe arrived exactly as advertised with all bolted on steel bell feet to sit perfectly on the garage floor. The electronic lock is excellent and has great backup functions. The inside shelving options were perfect for my long guns, handguns, and ammo. I purchased this product on the basis of the 75min fire and 3day water proof rating. The safe is a quality made unit that gives you a sense of security for your weapons and valuables. I was very pleased and would recommend this product.
The third party was not good, but the shipping company subcontracted the delivery. Safe was more than I expected. I wasn't sure what alarm unit it was with, so that was a bonus.
I could not find something better for the price.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I expected it to need to be assembled and was concerned about the condition it would arrive, especially right before Christmas. Surprise arrived earlier than expected and in perfect condition. As far as assembly is concerned, you do what needs to be done. It is a welding enclosure. I did some modifying for my purposes, but this is a solid investment. Since all this is happening Gun Security should be of prior importance for gun owners.
I had a smaller version of this safe when my home was broken down four weeks ago. They took many things, but regardless of what they tried, they couldn't open the security cabinet. I decided to buy another one, because they did bend and scratch it all up.
I received my product in a good condition. This was delivered by ABS Freight to my home in Wisconsin. The cabinet was in a clean, heavy duty cardboard box with internal cardboard bracing providing spacing around the inside of the box. The bottom was lined with foam padding. The box was mounted on a wood pallet with strapping holding it on it. A pallet jack was used to move the cabinet into my garage. When I took the item out of the box, there was no damage on the cabinet. The finish of the steel is solid and smooth, the color of the steel is black. There is nothing dated about the coating. I have found no chips or hazy paint found anywhere. I would go so far as to call it a car quality type of finish. I hope everyone else experiences similar success as I did in selecting this cabinet. Stack-On has been listening and improving with complaints concerning poor quality and shipping damage. Remember that the keys are inside a hidden flap inside the main box, so do not throw it away too quickly.
I really like this cabinet. The fit and finish are decent and assembly is easy. Peel and stick foam minimizes the sound that you might expect from sheet metal. It was delivered from Chicago via USF Holland, who did a nice job. I suggest that you have a light kit because you will not be able to see what you are doing inside. Amazon has a 6 LED strip motion activated kit from TorchStar. You can install these shelves prior to setting them, but you will have to remove them in order to complete a nice job. I keep this in my garage, it may be a problem for some. I built a plywood and twoxfour base with leg levelers. I attached a cabinet to the wall and the base. I believed that the right side would handle four or five long guns without them getting beat up. I can go up to seven or eight without too much trouble. The left side is filled with 5000 rounds, and three handguns inside their gun rugs. I have an active shooter, and I shoot clays at least once a week. I was looking for a tool to maintain my most utilized firearms safe, organized, and moderately secure. I really enjoyed this cabinet combined with the light kit.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
The piece is heavier and bigger than I anticipated. That is an excellent thing. I have spent the last two months looking for a mid cost bio safe, and I am glad that I settled on this one. The keys themselves are secure because of the magnetic plate covering the keyhole. I wish that there was a mute button, but I sleep with the fan on. That will drown out the beeps if anything happened at night. I do not like plastic locks, rather I like steel locks. This will not be quick or easy to rip open. It's possible because it suits its purpose as an emergency bedside safe. I wish this came with a cord to tether it to the table, but the other benefits outweigh the few gripes I have.
This safe impressed me for the price. I rarely write review products. It is a 1/3 price of some brand names safes, but it is as well built and the fingerprint reader works extremely well. I programmed my left, right, and index finger, and have had no difficulties accessing the safe. It is a nice interior light, however it is a bit dim. It holds my Glock 17 pistol and an extra magazine with no problems. Programming the keyboard pad and fingerprint reader was easy. I highly recommend if you are in the market for a quick access gun safe and are considering some of the more popular names like Sentry and Vaultek.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
It arrived quickly and was set up very easy. It works as advertised. It is a great relief to have the gun available in a second safe and locked away all the time.
It is very easy to set up, easy to install, easy to make your own code, and feels solid. I have had it since July and have not changed the batteries yet.
It fits nicely with Stoeger Str-9, which is similar to the Lock 19. The S&W 357 Magnum is too large but it doesn't fit. It is difficult to determine what fits into the hammer because of many variables such as the angle of the handle or grip and the length of the slide or barrel. If you measure nine and onehalf inches or less from the muzzle to the bottom backside of the grip, then your gun will fit comfortably. You will need to take that into account if you have a mag that extends beyond the grip. Probably, ten might be pushing it. It could fit but may need an additional shove to get the safe to close. Size reflects how the gun fits inside the safe when it is closed. The part which can hit or rub against the safe is the bottom of the grip or mag. Another consideration is that most revolvers carry thin barrels and lack of a slide. In such a case, they wobble when placed in the padding. It is best for guns that have a slide or rail. I would use this on guns that have the same dimensions, build, and style. Stores up to 50 fingerprints. It doesn't have to be from the same person. For example, both myself and my wife recorded our thumbprints, so we all can have access. The fingerprint sensor is sensitive, therefore you should record multiple positions of the same fingerprint. The manual suggests performing a few performs with different parts of the same finger, but I would recommend at least ten. Too many times in which my thumb was rejected when placed at a slight angle. You will achieve a consistent unlocking by recording different angles and positions. It struggles to record the side of the thumb, forcing a wider area of fingerprint against the surface. It requires an exact fingerprint and is not unsafe. The security code was extremely well executed. You can have set it at four to six numbers. This is helpful in the event your fingerprint is not responding appropriately in an emergency. It is also important to keep a backup key in the event your battery or any other element breaks down. Just make sure that it is well hidden. There are two keys, in the event one gets lost. The safe will require four AA batteries. You need to purchase them separately. It is on the inside of the case at the top. They can be a little awkward to put in and take out. I tried to pull the batteries out, and then allowed the safe to sit unpowered for about an hour. When I put the files back in, my code and fingerprints were still saved. If you want to not repeat the same action when the battery dies, there must be builtin memory. With that said, you can delete the memory if you wish to by using the rest button. It includes 8 mounting screws. The safe can be attached to the side or hung from the bottom of a surface for added stability and security. If you would like to attach it to a wall, you would need to come up with different screws. Keep in mind that the case is quite heavy. I weighed it 8 pounds and 5oz. That does not include gun weight. You would need to be certain it is securely attached or you will damage the surface it is attached to. Overall I am happy with this safe. It has an appealing design and I have the gun in it perfectly. They function as promised. I wish there was room inside the safe for a magazine. It is nice to have a second loaded mag accessible. As it is, the safe only has enough space for one gun. Overall, this safe works well and I am satisfied with it. Note that I originally uploaded visuals of what the gun looked like, but apparently I am not permitted to show a gun on a product made for guns
This safe does what it says it will do, and the fingerprint scanner is quick and accurate about 90% of the time. I have a Glock 19 that is comfortable, and it has room for larger handguns. My only complaint is that the safe does not have a slot for an additional magazine. I had to cut a hole in the foam to fit the magazine. The battery life seems to be good. I have been using it daily for several weeks without having to change batteries. There is no internal safe light. The installation was a little difficult, however, that is probably because of where I put it, which does not give much space for screw drivers, and the installation instructions were clear. Having the biometric instant access to your weapon makes this a very good solution for weapon security and ease of access.
