WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
Installation was easy, and setup was easy. If you are stuck on step one and get three red beeps during the handle identification process, make sure you are using fresh batteries. I pulled the batteries from another location, and even though it appeared they worked, they weren't enough power for the lock to turn and the process to complete.
I cannot tell you how many times I had worked in my shop and came to the front door and saw that my children had left and locked me out of the house. You come home with your car and then you have to go back in the house because you forgot something. Did you realize that you were not doing something right during your vacation? Give your neighbor the guest code. All of those issues are no longer a problem. If you get one you will not be sorry, even if you did not order another. I am currently ordering a Backdoor.
Just like all of the Amazon Basics products that I have tried, this one seems of the same quality as the expensive name brands. I have just installed it, so I cannot comment on the longevity. It is heavy, has a solid feel, and was easy to install. The hole through the door for the latch assembly did not line up with that of the previous door lock/latch assembly. So, I reused the old latch mechanism. It was easy for the latch not to be standard, or if it is the new latch. This was only an issue because I was reusing the existing mounting hole. If this were a new installation, the template that comes with the new lock assembly would have positioned the hole exactly to match the new lock.
I am very happy with this electronic deadbolt. I installed it on my garage door about one month ago, and have had no problems so far. It is built with all metal parts and is very solid.
The installation process was straightforward. I am extremely fast, secure, and strong. You will need to set up the password. It is very convenient. I no longer require a key. This deadbolt lock is really good value for money and inexpensive.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I really like this solution. If your lock is inconsistent, then go to the app settings section, select calibration and then press unlock. I advise that you stand right in front of your door or wherever you normally stand to unblock it and put your phone behind you. Your Kevo Smart Lock will work flawlessly and you will be able to enjoy the experience you deserve.
That was first generation, the Kwickset was on the front and back doors. It was on clearance for $100 at Lowe's three or four years ago. The 2nd Generation Kwickset was the choice I had contemplated considering the touchscreen feature for an entry door, Bluetooth wireless, and the fingerprint option being denied in the upgrade version. It was a much easier installation than the first generation, and the look is cleaner. I would highly recommend this product.
I have had this for months and it works beautifully. My daughters have an electric key so they can get in if they need to. The door unlocks when you are connected to the internet, and I enjoy checking to see if the door locks when Alexa is connected. I can check it on my app in case I cannot remember if it is locked or not. I have not had any issues with it. My daughter unlocked it from a different city one day as my phone went dead, called her from the neighbor's phone, and she got me into. This is a great gadget for me, since I am not a good keyboard user. Echo Auto doesn't work with Kvo, however, that is acceptable after some consideration. I would not want my auto echo to have that capability.
Both of them are in used and brand new condition. The initial lock was in an open box. The main unit had previous installation signs and a small amount of package was missing. However, all screws were sealed. The installation was quick and easy. The software required an update which failed several times. The lock worked in the app. After some manipulation with my phone and the lock, I was able to update the software. The second lock came in and opened the box without any signs of previous use. The software was updated from the first iteration. The second installation took only five minutes.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
It is easy to install and program. It took less than ten minutes to replace my deadbolt lock for this one. It was an incredible experience My door was perfect for the job and everything ran smoothly. It takes a lot of time to make sure the lockbolt slid into the doorframe without rubbing. This is a crucial step in using the automatic lock feature. You have to delete the default code that says 1234, so people cannot use it. Select a master code that you can remember. The unlock code has to be of four to ten digits that are not repeating. The automatic lock function is very useful. You can mute the buttons sounds and turn on or off the automatic lock. I also had easy rekeying the lock with the Smart Lock feature, which is almost too easy. However, I am still trying to determine what triggers the automatic lock feature. Sometimes it locks automatically and some times it does not. I am certain there is some logic to it. The instructions do not provide information concerning the automatic lock feature. I am going to test this feature before I decide on the automatic lock feature.
I have been using the deadbolt lock for two months and have been completely satisfied with it. After shopping dozens of different keyless deadbolts, ranging in price from just over $50 to well over $350, I settled on this one, in the bottom of the price range. I do not trust the security of my personal information in the cloud, there have been far too many data breaches of supposedly secure companies that expose untold quantities of data to hackers. I do not want a lock that interfaces with the cloud. The more expensive locks offer thousands of different entry codes. I need to purchase three or four. This one offers ten. Some of the more expensive locks offer the ability to interface with your phone and lock or unlock your door remotely. I cannot remember a single instance when I would need or use this feature, and I am not willing to pay more to have it. The lock offers once use codes, as well as an optional autolock after a time that I can set. I do not currently need either of those. I might, and I am not paying extra to get them. The lock allows program entry codes. Four digits is insecure for me, so I am glad I could use more. There is a lock feature, but just press one button. I did not realize how much of an advantage this was until last month when I went to an AirBnB that had a pushbutton lock and you needed to enter the code to lock it as well as unlock it. I am sorry, I was very hurt. There are only five code buttons. This means the code for the button to use was the same as for 1-4-3-7. This reduces the security of the lock somewhat. I knew it before I bought it, and with the low risk where I live I deemed it not a problem. If I program longer than four digit codes, a light that comes on lights the buttons from inside when you push the first button. This is a great evening time entry feature for people who are unfamiliar with the lock. The buttons are not large and only have moderate brightness, which might not be enough for older people with vision issues. The buttons are arranged in a distinctive pattern and it is easy to locate your first button by feel, and then enter your entire code by feel. There is a small chance I will remember how to code the next time I need to do it. The very small print instructions are easily followed. Just make sure that you do not lose your instruction manual. You should also have a magnifying glass handy, so you can read it. I do not know what the battery life is as of yet. The initial set of batteries is still going strong.Overall, this lock rates five stars. I am looking for one and it is very good. 19 months later, the lock still has five stars. It is easy to get the manual online, but I had to replace the batteries. I changed the master code and entered three user codes so I was not worried. Reprogramming the computer with a dozen or more user codes is a pain in the pants. However, I ran into a problem that was not covered in the manual when I was reprogramming. I called the toll free number in the manual, and I got a live person who was friendly and knowledgeable, and had my problem fixed quickly. This was outstanding customer service. This shows my very strong 5-star rating for this device.
The item that I have provided to her is suitable for entry in the future. She said that she could punch in the key combo with her eyes closed. I enjoy the lights on the buttons. We have not had any issues with it. I have read a few negative reviews, it simply clicks when you press the button to lock it. Not all key holes were made perfectly aligned with your door. That's especially true if you have a thick weather strip. In my case we have a thick weather strip that causes the door to miss align with the key hole when the door is closed. Using the lock button will generate a click and click sound. All you have to do is pull the door towards you, gently press it to adjust it, adjust the key hole, and press the lock button. Simply hold your door tightly while you press the lock button to lock the door. You do not need to pull on the door Once you unlock it, enter your code and press unlock. This is for people with clicking issue. I imagine that if your door and keyhole were perfectly aligned then you would not have this issue. The product is useful, and we like it.
This is a huge upgrade for someone who does not require a Smarthub interface. Although I enjoy all the automation available to your home, constantly streaming is a little bit too much Together with a video doorbell, this gives you all the options that a wifi lock would give you. The best feature of this system is that you do not have to be afraid to leave the house. A great feature is a video doorbell and you can walk to the door, pressing the lock button which locks the door. Also, there is no need to shut off your car if you need to enter quickly for something that you forgot. You should go in and grab whatever you need. I fear any negative reviews this may have is from user error. The instructions are simple to understand. Do not waste time. Read them thoroughly before the first setup. If you follow each step you are ready to go.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
It is simple to install and use. The install took less than ten minutes. I decided to use an auto lock turning piece that would keep the door locked at all times on my office door. It is a singlehole keyless entry lock. I would rather not pay more, and do not need to control it remotely. I just need to keep the door locked. It has a stylish, sturdy exterior and is low profile inside. Depending on where you are, he also has a lighted keypad for use in the evening if you press the Kwikset button first. It is a backup that comes with SmartKey so I could rekey it myself to all my other locks in five seconds. I really enjoy the SmartKey function.
I installed it on the door from the house to the garage. There is no fumbling with keys. There is an extra security step in case someone broke in the garage. It worked out in a few months. It is very simple to install. I have the matching deadbolt on my front door. The operating instructions are slightly different between this set and the deadbolt. I don't want to have a WiFi/app feature on my lockset, as those will be hacked, it has more features and programming options. The safety set screw is placed so that the lever is not interchangeable with other Kwikset lever styles. I have Lido on all of my other doors.
I have been looking for a similar kwikset unit for use on the lockable door handle to the storage room door on the back of my townhouse. The handle is complementary to the locks that I can use on my front and back doors. All are able to handle up to thirty unique codes which is more than enough for my need. The smart key system was the key that I needed to use in order for all of my locks to function with the same key. It has been installed approximately a week ago and works excellently. Installation was easy. The new lock came into place within five minutes after the old handle was removed. The handle is reversible so it is used for left or right hand needs. The item can be opened with a ninevolt power bolt, which is included. This is different than other units that take four AA batteries. When you enter the code you will hear the lock disengage and then it will reengage after 10 seconds so it is automatically locked, when you close the door I have an unsecure storeroom/shed door, which used to be unlocked. I do not have to worry about that. When I close it, it is always locked automatically. You do not need to carry a key.
Easy DIY was installed three months ago after we finished remodeling our cooperative apartment. It has easy, detail instructions on how to install our solid wood door against our metal door frame. The deadbolt lock with override option, guest access, and onetime access is great. I can get out of there quickly and dispose of garbage without worrying about forgetting my keys or being locked out accidentally. It works and the keyed entry is foolproof. Great buy for extra tier to compliment our exterior entrance locking security.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I love it. The battery life is good. It's easy to connect with the house and the app.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I have been using this lock for a few weeks now. The battery is strong and works flawlessly with the Apple HomeKit and the Chamberlain system. It was easy to set up, and there were absolutely no issues. I am not permitted to provide an specificity regarding my family member's ability to remember to lock the door, primarily at lunchtime upon her departure. Since both of us receive alerts that the door is open or closed, it is easy for either of us to make sure it is locked after entry. My friends and neighbors needed a kitchen item so I let them borrow ours and locked the door behind them after they left. We enjoy the lock, and everything about it. It works with Siri which is great. I have not had a glitch to date. I have been searching for locks of this specific nature and was hoping to make the correct choice, but so far I am pleased.
These locks are outstanding They were easy to install. All I had to do was adjust the strike plate slightly to ensure there was no friction when locking or unlocking. If there is friction, the battery will drain more quickly, you risk a failure of locking or unlocking. Please note that this is a door lock only. If you want to know if your door is open or closed, you will need something like an Elgato Eve Door & Window Sensor to go along with this. It would be unuseful if the door was locked when it was opened. If you simply use a button or Siri to lock/unlock, then you do not know who did it. The best thing about this is that I did not have to manually change these or reset them. They just worked as Wifi went down completely, but they still worked. So it seems like bluetooth is the primary mode of communication, but when that is not an option, your home hub can do the communicating for you over WiFi. I am very impressed with these. Additionally, they are not quite as bulky as the last Smart Lock I saw. It looks much nicer. You can finally rekey the traditional lock to fit your existing key, which is really nice.
The door lock will work with Homekit, which Apple provides from the box. It plugged into the Apple TV 4 gen without turning it on or off. I like the random digits that pop up each time. It is simple and I do not regret it. I am very satisfied with this lock. The interactive installation guide for iOS is very useful.
I purchased the lock because my old one was starting to burn through battery life and had trouble opening. It appeared that it would eventually fail. I purchased this lock as a replacement because I could monitor the battery on my phone, set all of the parameters using my phone instead of dip switches, and use Siri on my phone to unlock the door. However, I enjoy Siri and think it is great. The lock comes with horrible instruction directions, but if you have ever installed a lock before, it is similar. Kwikset has excellent videos that redress the poor instructions. The videos give you steps of the process, and are probably easier to use than reading instructions with tiny pictures. I was able to use all my old screws and such. The locks are the same as my old one, and were straightforward to install with one small snag, the turn knob in the wrong position. However, forcing it into the correct alignment with a pair of pliers did the trick, and turned without any resistance. The lock works perfectly either by punching in the code or by asking Siri to unlock or lock the door. The lock needs a fourth generation Apple TV to utilize it more than a bluetooth distance. I only have a third generation, but this problem isn't really an issue for me. You will need a fourth generation Apple TV if you want to be able to check your lock and operate it when away from home. I like the lock, but I see it in the Apple HomeKit on my iPhone. I made a good purchase. I enjoy coming home from a morning walk, tapping my AirPods, and asking Siri to open the lock for me. If you are an Apple user this lock is a great value.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I own exactly the product that mysteriously vanished recently. The overall product I like had been around for six to ten years. I ordered a second one to simplify the replacement. It's wonderful that a newer version has a significantly larger motor. I believe that Amazon is complicit in price manipulation. The cost depends upon which color you order. Amazon is trying to destroy traditional retailers, which I believe will become a lesson in predatory economics. I am definitely open to finding competitors going forward. How long can this review survive autoparsing scrutiny?
I would never go back to a traditional deadbolt. It is helpful to be able to enter and exit a door quicker without having to fumble for your keys. I have used the Kwikset on several door openers. The four AA batteries needed will last between two months and a year. I have experienced everything. I use the door approximately 10-15 times a day and the battery lasts approximately one month. I have used it as little as once or twice per week and at that point it lasted about a year before it required new batteries. Cold temperatures don't seem to affect it. I have had warm climates with 100 degree summers and winters that are cold. The repair of the lock should be simple. You can key the lock to your existing keys, or you can use the provided new keys. Either way, it's easy to rekey the lock.
This product is excellent value for money. The item was placed in an outdoor shed and has been in use flawlessly for two years. The key lock made sense except for the one entry, in the event of an electonics failure. We used the version with no key slot on the multiple doors of our house. They are all excellent and easy to install. I had an initial alignment issue with this lock. I called Kwikset and their customer care people quickly walked me through the issue. Lock remembers your code when changing batteries, which is great. I have purchased four of these models. They are excellent. Also, this lock was installed on a shed. It's been a little bit more exposed to the elements. It recently showed slight surface corrosion, so I lightly oiled the surface with WD40 and it looks good as new.
We bought two locking sets. The first one we tried to install was defective. The lock was useless due to the problem with the interior assembly. It was on the opposite side of the street. Fortunately, Amazon has a great return policy. He is very attractive and has a good rating overall. The instructions were excellent, very well written, and communicated in a way that you can actually understand, and with great illustrations. It is simple to program.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I had not updated my review since we received a replacement a few months ago. This new lock is very good. It accomplishes exactly what we need in terms of features. This one is a better siter with our door since I no longer have to pull to me or push to lock and unlock. The key simply moves from one location to another. I believe we just received a defective one. As with most things manufactured in masses, there is bound to be a couple with issues. I thank you for supplanting me. Our new home contains all of the required components for a front door lock. After six weeks of being installed, it started to corrode, and our key was getting stuck. The key also contained corrosion. I emailed the seller, but I never received a response. It finally got stuck for good today at such an inconvenient time. When I was going to the doctor I did not have time to manipulate it, so I left the key inside and left. If I am unable to open, I think that most people will not be able to open that without breaking it. That is what we ended up doing. The codes were very long and I will never remember them. Amazon gave me overnight access. I used the app, and it helps us lock and unlock the phone. I tried that to unlock my house and it failed because the key was jammed. I found a person who said that the door must be closed very tightly for the lock to work, to be true with our door. The lock appears to be shorter lasting. I am not sure, maybe I got a bad one. I am hoping the replacement will work better for us. If it does not work then we'll lose an extra $120.00.
The initial version of the product was easy to install, however, the instructions could be clarified in more detail. The second one must be whittled out, as it did not fit well. The lock is not the one to blame. In order to avoid taking it apart and putting it back together, I held the mechanism while the husband whittled away. I didn't know that it works with Alexa. I found that it was my fault that I did not examine the fine print. I would like to be able to lock or unlock remotely from the app, but you cannot. You have to be within a few feet of any lock. The fine print states that it is implied. However, I was unaware of the actuality. This has helped me set up the gateway, and now I have the ability to unlock or lock it from within the app. I highly recommend it.
I really like this lock. It contains many features to provide specific codes to different people. I have not had any problems since I was in this lock for two months. I do not have the bed to carry a house key. It is convenient to enter a code into the entrance and unlock the door. This lock was paired with a door handle that matches it. You could cover the key insert, but I left it off because I find removing that little cover difficult. I believe that the app will warm you when you are on a low charge.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
The second time we have used Probrico doorknobs for a remodel. My husband and I found them straightforward. I noticed that some reviewers thought they were difficult to install, but that was not his experience. They are effective of decent middle level quality and very competitively priced.
I am currently renovating projects in my house, with all this time in my hands. I looked at Home Depot and found that purchasing a quantity of this item would be more expensive than trying it here on Amazon. I purchased Probrico the set of six Privacy Door Levers Wave Style Handles. Each item is individually wrapped in its own box. I took the items out of the box, and installation was simple. The door handles are from old gold but now are from silver, more modern. I liked that I could use it for entering in a right handed way, or entering the door on the left handed way because the handles were versatile. I would definitely recommend this item, if you have at least six doors to replace. What I really liked about this item is that I could use it for entering in a right handed way or entering the door on the left handed way. The handles are very versatile. This product is of great benefit to anyone who is replacing at least six doors.
It looks like a commercial grade product, which is tough. I have purchased and installed many door knobs. It is twice as large as Kwikset knobs. The handle positions are firm. I find them very attractive. I highly recommend this product. They would now need an exterior door handle.
I needed to replace my interior lock sets for a while. I ordered privacy and passage lock sets. The installation went smoothly with very few modifications. The mortise on the latch and strike needed to be squared off with a small wood or knife. You can fix the lock with a hollow core door if you over tighten the lock set. Reassemble and unassemble them until firm, they look great, function well, and are solid construction. Even reversing the handing was easy with the included Allen wrench. I enjoy the coin turn feature, rather than having to find a place to keep the small key or lock sets.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I found that it was very easy to install, it did not require drilling or other major changes. Batteries have lasted for several months without a problem. It is an excellent quality lock and with an 8digit code that is easy to program on the door of the interior gun and ammunition room.
Honeywell has always made a quality product.
I own a lock similar to this one but from another company. This particular one seems solid. It seems as if the time is moving. It's easy to install. It just feels solid and well made.
