WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I read numerous review of this product and none seem to provide a good description. I have installed these into existing deadbolt holes and I found installation to be very easy. If you are even a little mechanically inclined, can work a smart phone efficiently and can turn a screwdriver. It is simple to install and navigate. Adding the lock to the app is easy. The gateway installation was not clear. I solved the problem in five minutes. It was extremely difficult with Alexa integration because I am relatively savvy in technology. However, if you read the instruction and yes, read it, it is really very simple. When you are asked for a user name, it is very important to add the +1 to your sign in. As for the unit itself, I got the multi pack with the wifi gateway which is required for smart home integration. The other came with all the bells and whistles it actually talks to you, but the speaker that it talks through seems low quality, hard to hear, and kind of crackly. The other features include fingerprint scanner, electronic key card keypad and wifi. They gave you five keys. The bolt that acts as the physical lock was thought out and tapered at the end to help guide them. If you do not have a perfect strike it's only a few millimeters, but enough to make life with them much easier.
It was easy to install and set up. The unit has lost power several times and is always reset. I have not had to do anything to get it reconnected to its companion app. Other devices behave like that and I have experienced an issue when something is disconnected from the internet or the power. Most lock require help in order to work properly, however, this lock does not have the problem. This purchase provided a great product, built to a solid specification, the instructions were easy to understand, and the app included. I place this lock in my indoor grow room. There is an imminent increase in grow rooms, thanks to a law in Arizona, which gives recreational marijuana legal status. You should keep them locked. I purchased this lock to test for my services. I am currently working on a grow room installation business. I would absolutely purchase these items for my high end clients, should my dream come to fruition.
I purchased two of these, each with a gateway. First, I would like to know the seller. Some users have said that the manual is worse than poor. The usual response I received thanking me for my comment was quick but was attached was a draft of their new manual. This draft was incomplete, but very well written and much more detailed. I did make sure that the bolt moved freely in both directions. Several months have passed and the batteries are still strong. The seem sturdy and well made. Third, Alexa may say it is unlocked when it is actually locked. Additionally, a particular system cannot handle two consecutive status inquiries within a routine. I am very happy with my purchase and I am hoping that Alexa skill might be improved over time.
The lock worked nicely. I did find the instructions to be difficult to understand but did manage to complete the installation. I suggest that the instructions be modified by an English speaking interpreter, because the poor translation added to the difficulty in understanding them. The instructions have been updated since I installed the unit and are easier to read. The lock is advertised to work with Alexa. It is good, except for one exception. There is no way for the Alexa App to determine the actual locked/unlocked status, if the lock is turned manually. The addition of an extra detection switch in the lock would probably solve that. I specifically selected the lock for that functionality when we are away from home. The instructions have been updated since I installed the unit and are easier to read.

I went to the manufacturers website after seeing this product on an Amazon affiliated website. I had been fascinated by the item for some time. I decided to purchase it after my current keypad deadbolt was due to be replaced. I decided to go ahead. I was able to install U-bolt without any troubles. The only issues I had were that I needed to fix the alignment of the deadbolt in the door frame. That was due to the issues with the door frame itself and not the product. Once installed, setup of the lock was straight forward with the app. Also, adding the wireless bridge to allow for offsite functions was easy. I have played with all the different methods of locking and unlocking. I prefer the autolock method when entering and leaving my home. I intend to enable access for my core family and some friends. I enjoy having a push notification sent when someone is at the lock, I also enjoy the log that it keeps in order to inform me of the person that arrived, something I can verify with my security camera. I love this lock and look forward to replacing the other entry doors on my property with these locks. Also, taking the headache out of locating the key to the deadbolt on my garage when the power goes out.
I have been thinking about getting a smart lock for a couple of years now and found myself attracted to one or more of the available locks because of an interesting feature they have. I tried to purchase one but it always lacked something. Some individuals did not possess a physical key. Other people were not concerned with geofencing. Some do not offer Alexa integration or an associated smartphone app. Other things were lack of temporary access codes. Most of them lack fingerprint access. The U-Bolt Pro has all of that. Keyed access, keys with different codes for different individuals, fingerprint access works great, geofencing, automatic locking after a specified interval, and if you purchase the wifi bridge, a smartphone app that can lock and unlock from anywhere, and Alexa integration for reporting the locked and unlocked status of the lock, and changing it. When using Alexa, you must select enable and set to require a code for voice confirmation to unlock the front door. It also features an IFTTT integration allowing you to synchronize the behaviors of different smart home devices. The example discussed, would be for the front door to lock automatically whenever a motion detector notices someone coming in. I am one of those people who wants to have everything. I know that the lock could need to be completed. Specifically, in spite of at least one review suggesting that it supported time based access codes, I could not find any mechanism for setting a date range in which a user would have access. I do not understand how you would feel if you wanted regular employees to have access only on Mondays between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. I suppose it may be something using IFTTT, although I think it is not feasible.
I enjoy all the speeds and the ease of installation. I lost my second set of keys and it was sent to me in four days. I was given very good customer service. I use them on properties that are being constructed in order to allow the various trade companies to use the codes. I have one connected to the bridge with a LTE modem, using a 64Kbps IoT cell plan, and it works great, however, their quality control is having problems. The fingerprint scanner went out on one of three purchases I made, and my friend who I recommended it to had a failure. Customer service reached out to me quickly and instructed me to open it up again. I did not believe that it would happen since I do reset it several times, but it worked. I changed my review to five stars.
