WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I installed these yesterday. Contrary to a review I read, they came with all the necessary hardware. They are easier to install and I was more pleased with the quality for the price. All locks operate with the same key. The satin nickel color is very nice and matched the other satin nickel knobs in our home very well. This would be a great choice if you are looking for low price and superior quality entry knobs.
I recently purchased a new home and needed to change the locks without breaking the bank. The knobs I ordered were of a decent quality. I consider myself rather handy for a 26yearold female, but I had never installed door knobs. The installation was easy with the YouTube tutorial, and the instructions provided. I was able to solve it by taking it off, spinning the key mechanism, putting it back on, and repeating until I found the placement that allowed the bolt to turn. I found that it was relatively simple to install.
I am not even a handyman. I did repair and install the doorknob and lock using a regular Phillips head screwdriver.
I finally saw this as a good value three years later and Amazon Basics does not disappoint. I had a bit of a hesitant reaction. I have never changed a door knob before. The instructions were complete and easy to follow. The door went in in less than five minutes without altering the existing door hole. The knob on my old house would not always close without slamming the door shut, and I did not have a key. It locks up tight, and looks better than the previous fading knob. I will purchase another one for my front door.
These locks work nicely. The finish and keyfit are nice. The full fitting, replacing 25yearold lock sets, works without any changes to the holes in the door or frame. The corners are rounded rather than pointed, as someone noted. This may be on a quality door, but it left a small gap in the frame that was not noticeable to me. The packaging was excellent and all parts were wrapped in soft plastic bags. Four keys is an attractive touch. The antique brass color, lighter than I usually see on door sets, but looks nice. I would buy this again if I needed door hardware.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I may have missed something in the Amazon details, but page 4 of the instruction book states explicitly that this product is for indoor use only. I purchased two of them, one for my front door, and one for my inside door, so one is getting returned. The set I installed today works well, but did take a long time. It took me three hours to install. I did possess all the required tools but it had more to do with my poor finish carpentry skills than the product. You may want to pay someone to install this if you are not really very handy, especially if you are installing a new door and frame.
It is extremely convenient, especially since we've been searching everywhere for keys. We needed them, it allows us to enter and gain access, and I like that everyone has their own codes. If we need a friend, then it's quick and convenient for them to come over, let them out, or feed the fish.
I love all the features of this product. It's beautiful on the door.
The setup was quick and easy. I love the look of it on my door.
Okay, this is a quality lock. It is a slight pain to make, but it is not time consuming or confusing. Just have to hold a few things at once. It has a good build quality. I prefer that when you want to unlock it, it displays a few random keys for you to press before your code. This helps eliminate the issue of wearing down just certain spots, and people watching you key your code in from a distance. You need to firmly press the keypad to awaken it. Try hearing the lock and beep. If it has a problem, it will attempt to lock three times. You should only use it indoors. It's only mentioned in a small section of the instructions. We have covered the main door so that we can use this and we now have codes that family can give out so that they can enter our home without prior setup.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I purchased the deadbolt and the matching entry door handle to replace the old brass on my basement door. I had never installed a lock set before. I was a little concerned that this was a too good to be true price and either the lock would not be of very good quality or it would be difficult to install. It was great to see very detailed installation instructions, and the lock is very good quality. I installed it with no problems in less than ten minutes. It is a good buy on a budget. It's square and contemporary style looks fantastic.
I have bought this for my bedroom door to provide some security until my roommates figure out how to actually lock the apartment door. I originally purchased a cheaper Honeywell lock, but something went wrong with the installation and the bolt would pull out of the door.
I purchased one brass and one satin nickel finish, both in used condition. Brass is a replacement for a lock that is not working and Satin Nickel is for a new door without a lock. During the brass installation, I discovered the one of the two screws to the cylinder would not go all the way in, and must be the reason it was returned. I ended up using old cylinders and keys so I now have a working lock. I will try a nickel lock later this week and if it is identical, I will order a new one in good condition.
When we were moving to a new kitchen, we came across these. Those are not true fears. I ordered three and each of them was very easy to install it took me about fifteen minutes per door to change out four hinges, a deadbolt, and a door knob purchased from this same Amazon series. Additionally, I was impressed by the look and feel of the deadbolts. The components worked perfectly, and the finish did not appear to be prone to wear or chipping off. The only thing I will add is that it is not a major concern nor something I know all that much about. I do not have a realistic basis to judge how secure these are. In another review I have seen that the locks used here are very simple. If security is the primary concern, you may want to investigate the problem further. If, like myself, you are looking to match other features of your home with a secure feeling lock that is easy to install, look no further. It was a wonderful purchase.
I purchased this item. My new office door had both a hole for a door handle and a dead bolt. I encountered the issue when needing to fill the deadbolt hole using my existing keypad door handle. I searched all over the internet and finally decided on this one. Even though I really will not use it, it is more to fill the hole. So I cannot speak on how the function, durability, or longevity of this deadbolt will be, but I give it five stars. Perhaps one day I will actively use it, but for now, it is just a hole filler.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I try to save myself money by DIYing things around the house that I bought this past year myself. I bought a door handle to simplify my life because my front door was too hard to open. The door knob is attractive as soon as I opened it. Once I got into installing it I realized it was fairly straightforward. As long as you have your measurements correct on the cut out of your door. I know that no longer have any problems getting in my front door, and as an added bonus it is really attractive update Horrible Do not buy them unless you like being stranded outside without being able to enter your house. I was unable to open my door due to the internal turning mechanism on the thumb press. I had to call a locksmith, and I would have to pay for it to Jimmy. They left my door open nearly breaking my frame. It is a cheap item that is scary.
I installed this door on a new door. It had all the holes predrilled. The AmazonBasics manual presumes you are drilling all the holes. In fact, this would have been the best. It went exactly as planned, although the predrilled holes were slightly different than those expected for this product. The most difficult installation involved chisling out the space for the deadbolt and latch plates along the edge of the door. Both holes had been predrilled. The matching spaces for the strikeplates on the door frame jam clearly have been made with some kind of automatic tool. I wanted a good operation. A quality operation that worked.
It was simple. We have a ring, so I did not need the dead bolt. It looks great and works well. The latch outside of the locking mechanism has a tendency to flop if the lock mechanism is stressed. I chose a template for this, but the cost was low. I am not sure if I ran over my head or if the template is not helpful. The outside is excellent, the installer is simple, and works as expected.
After comparing the prices for similar items, I found the selection at Home Depot and Lowe's very sparse and expensive. I jumped on Amazon and found this much cheaper alternative. I decided to order the door hardware after having it installed. I did not only love it, it was of very strong construction and functions smoothly. I am pleased with my purchase.
It is very heavy duty and does not feel cheap. It is easy to install, and it is fast shipping.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I wanted something inexpensive to replace a handle knob that stopped allowing the door to open properly. It was easy to install and feels nice and sturdy which was a big surprise considering the price. I love that it includes a deadbolt because my previous lock required a key inside and that was just dumb because we lost the key. I would purchase this set again because of the price and quality.
I have two locks on my front and back doors. I feel much safer now because they are well built and easy to install. The price is reasonable and it's within my small budget. I only have a complaint they packed the screws in the wrong boxes. That is minor to me, definitely not worthy of a star off, but wanted to mention so others can be aware. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
I really like the matte finish on this handle. The materials are great and sturdy. I installed a bolt lock with a button pad. They were installed by my contractor friend in thirty minutes. The only reason it took that long was that he had to drill a hole in the door for the new bolt. Installation should take only a few hours.
I was skeptical about the quality, so I only ordered one. I received it and I waspleasantly surprised. The quality was very high. I had it installed in a matter of minutes. After an hour of trying to install, I threw it back in the box and returned. I ordered the second that I needed after this. I'll order again, if I need to.
I had searched the Lowe's website and in the store for door knobs. The lowes store does not carry them in stores, so you must order them from the website, it costs more. I discovered them on Amazon and was excited when I saw the large selection to choose from. They are easy to install and wellmade. They are made in China.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I am a landlord and a DIYer, one of my areas of expertise is changing locks. So this took less than ten minutes to install. It is a very wellmade tool and fits most standard single deadbolt openings. I feel safer a nighttime with this type of deadbolt that can not be bumped from outside even though I also have a vertical deadbolt. I will review it in a few months, to see if the screws loosen up over time.
It is compatible with other nickel hardware. The screw set which we received is similar to the nickel on the lock. The screw assembly did not seem as intuitive nor was it as long as we wanted.
Nice. Simple design and good quality. It was an easy install for a woman without any deadbolt lock experience. I used an old Arrow double keyed deadbolt without keys. Then I used two wire cutters to cut through the outer cap on the inside of the door that has the screws. Once I could peel the metal back, the screw plate fell out and I was able to pull the screws. It lasted just a few minutes. I did not pay a locksmith to remove what I had wanted to throw away. I am looking for a simple deadbolt with a thumb operated operation. This one is perfect. The size is good for easy operation. However, I would have preferred antique copper, which I find fine.
My neighborhood had thieves using cheap lockpick guns to break into garages through inexpensive Schlage and Kwikset locks. Purchasing locks that are not susceptible to snap guns and vibration guns is an expensive investment. It is cheap to find a lock without a keyhole. You are likely only required to lock one door, such as a side door or the secondary door of your garage, and this lock is an effective way to stop simple thieves. The lock will be breached by a big sledgehammer, but it is unlikely it will be quickly bypassed by common hand tools.
I believe the Schlage B80 is a single sided deadbolt that has a thumb turn on the inside with no trim on the outside. The hole in the door does not go through to the outside. The thumb turn can be attached to metal and hollow core doors as well as wooden doors. The B80 is excellent for its price and was exactly what I needed for my application. Even though cheap deadbolts are, their security level is grade 2. I would recommend a deadbolt with a grade one rating for an entry, side, or back door to your house.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I know today that if you put this lock in, you will be very quick. I chose this because of its heavy duty components. Pick up a competitor's lock, and notice the difference in weight and the components. The lock bolt is moved manually, while it is electronic. It is important because the battery life for locks with automatic bolts is greatly reduced. I am aware that the bolt is in place because I turn the lock. It will expand and contract as I get sunlight at different times of year. Having an automatic lock that requires more force due to the door shifting can cause issues with the life of the mechanism or in some cases may not lock when you think it did. If I notice that the lock is starting to bind, I can pull or push on the door while throwing the bolt thus relieving any pressure and protecting the components. I feel as if I will get a better life from this lock. I bought a handle that matches mine. I was impressed by the components and the ease of installation.
I purchased this keyless door lock after my previous ones had failed. The issue with fully motorized deadbolts is that they require perfect alignment of the door and door frame with minimal interference. I have heavy weather stripping and a deadbolt that is so tight in the door frame. The motorized version had two problems. The deadbolt is manual actuated. The keyless pad locks the outside actuator, so you can manually move the deadbolt. I find this to be effective in my situation. I find the battery life to be good. If the battery does break down and you are locked out, you can put a 9V battery on the terminal outside and the keypad will work. The installation took five minutes. The first time you program the program, it takes five minutes to learn the instructions.
I have changed the deadbolts on this lock. I purchased five locks from Amazon and one from the hardware store. I am also adding a second deadbolt from Abloy or BiLoc just to add to the security of my doors. I have searched through more than a dozen combination locks before I came across this one. There are only a few companies that produce combination locks. Addition of a combination deadbolt with a key backup is not recommended if you are trying to secure your house from picking and bumping. This loss does not have any key backup system so it cannot be bumped or picked. You just need to take a 9volt battery, and touch it to the two builtin posts and enter your combination. Schlage is doing this because it has one of the best combination locks on the market today. I found that the online price was cheaper than any other place I have ever seen.
I was looking for a passcode lock that was safe and easy to use but did not connect to the internet. I am an IT professional with twenty years of experience. I appreciate the convenience that technology brings to us. Online is a very bad way to remove locks. This fits the bill. It provides convenience of not carrying a key, but does not come with the risk of connecting to the internet. There is no way to pick this lock because it does not have a key hole.
I installed a new front door, then upgraded it. My wife and I desired a reliable deadbolt solution that does not require a key. The Schlage's design is elegant, reliable, high quality, and easy to install. I gave Easy Locking a four star because the deadbolt does not lock alone when closing the door upon leaving. You require to enter your code and then manually lock the deadbolt when you leave. It is an easy to accept compromise for reliability and dependability compared to app supported locks who still have flaws and eat batteries like nothing for electrically turn the locking mechanism.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I ordered a deadbolt and other Copper Creek knobs in preparation to sell my house. The condo had different style hardware. Maybe a bit of brass or chrome. It needed a cohesive look. The deadbolt has a beautiful satin finish and it elevated the appearance of our door for a lot less money than other brands. The installation process was straightforward and my own abilities enabled me to undertake it. It's very challenging to mount the lock while keeping it in line, but it is still possible. I know which brand of hardware to purchase for our next house.
It is difficult to locate a double cylinder lock. This particular one looks good, works well, and was simple to install. If you check the pins on the exterior side are horizontal, and the ones on the interior side are vertical, then it will work great.
It is inexpensive, has fast delivery, and is fairly easy to install. I had to make the hole on the outside bigger by filing some of the inside of the door. It is possible that the reason for this is that it is an old door and old hardware. I also had to purchase a file.
I used this to replace an existing lock. It was installed quickly without any instruction. Lock operations very smoothly with key entering and turning. Overall, I am very satisfied.
The quality and price are very good and the installation is easy.

WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
It looks good, and does exactly what it is supposed to. I am not sure how you are supposed to review a door knob. The color is not cheap and works really well for opening and closing doors. It included all of the parts and keys. Should I have to have that, I would purchase another one.
It greatly changes the look of your house very easily. It's very strong and has excellent build quality. I wish that the screws were a bit longer, so that they would bite better into the door frame and door. I would highly recommend it if you want the black oil brush look. I would recommend that you put tape on the door knob or a flexible power screw driver extension to prevent scratching of the door handle when installing.
I bought two. I was skeptical of the Amazon Basics brand. I installed the two and the door knobs were as good as those that were much more expensive. For best results, try turning the knobs before fixing the handles. I ultimately purchased four more, one for all of my bedrooms and bathrooms.
The children have left and grown up. We had a few knobs for the large house that needed updating. I am skeptical of the low cost, so I purchased four to try them out. They are hollow, lightweight, and will not be confused with a premium knob if you get it in your hand. However, visually they look like millions of dollars. A large amount of knobs and budget strained by flooring, painting, window replacement, roofing, etc. These fit the bill nicely. I did not purchase a keyed entry, but a lot of passage and privacy knobs. Many visuals for a low cost of high quality. I find every knob to have smooth movement, and I suspect there was an issue with installing the knobs for those who complained about their smooth function. I purchased the oil rubbed bronze, but I cannot speak of the other colors. It's simple to install, and simple to replace a knob for this price. As I mentioned, maybe not for an entry, but plenty sturdy for our uses interior without rough little hands abusing them. I recommend buying one or two and gaining your answers, as Paul did.
I ordered this door knob when I was ready to lose it. The door knob arrived in time. I asked my handyman to replace the dying knob by this Amazon basic knob. I was surprised at the ease with which he performed the replacement, and the amount of time it took for him to complete the replacement. The new doorknob is stable and smooth. If I could, I would have given four and a half stars. I wish that the key was longer and bigger, as it would be easier to turn.
