WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
It has been a few years since I last used a color all in one inkjet printer and I was delighted by the upgraded features that I found on this Brother MFCJ805DW model. From the very start, I noticed improvements which enhance the convenience. The entire control panel and LCD screen can be tilted upward for optimal viewing. I love that I do not bend over to read each step at an awkward angle. The LCD screen walks the user through both the initial setup and the various functions. The ink tanks have an expiration date well in the future and the fact that they are guaranteed to provide one year on average of printing makes me worry less about the ink running out or drying up just when I need it most. Another nice touch is the label right inside the print tray that shows the paper direction and print placement. I usually use white paper, but when I use specialty papers I often forget to write at the top and bottom. It is also a benefit that the paper tray can be removed to help with paper size adjustment. The Brother MFCJ805DW is backward compatible even though I do not use it. The product also comes with an installer disc for both Windows and Mac, if one does not wish to download them directly. Connecting to my network's wireless network took a few seconds using the LCD screen. This found my network immediately, and I had only to enter the password to obtain an instant connection. Brother Web Connect gives you a temporary key to allow you to connect to the internet. The main menu on the LCD screen allows you to select cloud accounts to save scans including Google Drive Dropbox, OneNote, OneDrive, etc. Copy and scan features both work nicely. The item can be scanned either from the PC mobile app or from the computer. I do like the option for EasyScan to send a copy to my email address. The fragile items can be fed into by the document feeder, or the lid can open to put individual fragile items into one by one. Because I have an older Brother mono laser printer, I was already using both the Brother iPrint and Scan app and Google Cloud Print. Windows 10 instantly found this model as a printing choice, too. I like having the ability to print from mobile apps, such as Google Chromebooks, as well as Windows 10. The copies printed by this Brother MFCJ805DW are quite nice both pdf as well as jpg. The copies you have scanned are very good. It is an extremely easy to use, all in one inkjet printer.
I completed the installation in less than an hour. I was allowed to continue. I did not have much difficulty finding the serial number. I have a small flashlight and remembered the pen and paper. The letters and numbers are too small, Brother. I have had a few ridiculed moments, so I would say that I have four stars. The comments concerning this printer and other Brother printers are of the wrong nature but I will say that if you treat the paper as it should, this appears to be a well built machine. The cost was originally around 169, but subsequently it was around 139, and unlike other Brother Printers which have a lengthy delivery time, I was pleased with the delivery time of two days for prime. After three weeks, I am pretty much satisfied with this printer. It prints very well, b&w, color, and fairly quiet. It does not seem to use much ink. I am admitting that I have not really researched it so far. I have found a truly great find, and thankfully, ink lasts.
The printer arrived at my door today. It was simple to setup and it was tiring because I had to change between computer and printer many times. It connected seamlessly, with no cords required. The instructions were clear and easy to follow except for the finish, which was finding the serial number to register the machine. I did look for it on the internet to find where to look for it, and I learned that the phone number can be called up on the device screen, thus no gymnastics needed to find it. It would have been nice to have this information on the instruction sheet. So far it has produced five nice, crisp copies. I give it five stars now, but I will revise if needed.
This is by far the best printer I have ever had. I have printed many colored pages and ink lasts forever. I had to figure out how to scan my previous printer, but this one was very easy to figure out and worked perfectly.
I've had this printer for almost a year, and I think it is highly that I want to update my review. I had rated this printer 5 stars, and am maintaining that ranking. After using this printer consistently over the past year, the Ink usage is simply amazing. I replaced the artist The Ink once in the past year. Other printers seem to drink the stuff, but this printer works wonders. The maintenance of that is very well done as well. After a while of uneven printing, an on screen wizard helped identify which inkjet heads were jammed and cleaned them quickly and efficiently. This printer is ideal for a home office or for a family with children who are interested in distance learning. I had previously purchased two Epson printers and I was looking for a new printer to try and get a better rate. For less than $150, this printer works very well. What I like is Supporting Black and White Only Printing, which is a lifesaver when printing out school work for my kids. The two sides printing saves paper and also allows an efficient ink use. We have used our printer almost daily for a month now, and still have ink to spare Scanning: This not only has a top load scanner for multiple documents, but also scans to PC very easily. When you press a button, a file will automatically be sent to your PC in PDF format. It not only prints efficiently, but also prints quickly. Once we purchased it, we have used it extensively as we have been home due to the CoVID-19 pandemic.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I would say one thing about it, I did not like it. It is difficult to understand the directions for faxing therefore I need better directions. That has always been an issue with Brother. Otherwise, it is a good purchase.
There was not much in common.
It is good quality and should be a good value. We should not consider ink replacement.
After much deliberation, I finally decided on this one. I have had this printer for almost three weeks. Setup was much easier than I expected and I love the wireless feature which works great. I am extremely happy with it.
I have read multiple printer reviews. Black ink is all I need. In my experience, inkjet does a better job, but the ink dries out if not used regularly. It was relatively easy to setup. I have performed reviews before, then I was automatically able to enter into the online driver setup. I setup a physical printer at the same time, it performed most of the work for me and I was connected to the internet within minutes and had updated my time and print status. The tiny LCD screen is small, but I used the end of a pen to gently press the letters for WiFi Login and it worked perfectly. I also set it to eco mode to conserve energy and ink. You can adjust the sounds. I turned most of them off or low. So far, a few prints have been done. It is relatively fast, a tad noisy, but overall very effective and worth the money. Even though the print cartridges are expensive, I believe they will be worth the cost in the long run.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I purchased the Brother MFC L3750CDW, which is the newer version, in January 2019. You cannot go by the overall rating because there are some older models mixed in. It is a welldesigned office printer that has so far worked well. I find it to be quite silent when comparing it to the laser that replaced it for $600HP. I am impressed, given that the printer comes with half filled starter toner cartridges. At the time that I am printing 690 pages, I still have 50% of my black ink left and 90% of my color ink. The printer has been perfect since I bought it. There was no bleeding on the edges or toner dust in the system. It consumes half the Toner that my older HP used and prints better than day one.
I have been a fan of Brother for five years. Before that I purchased and used only HP printers, but once around 2010, HP printers would inevitably crash out after a little over a year. After the third HP printer performed this, I decided to try Brother printers. I have two small brothers and my two brothers are still employed after five years. I have used it for a month and am happy with the printer. The setup was easy to do. It was smooth, and trouble free. I needed a techie friend to install my large HP T120 and set it up to wireless. With the Brother, it was simple and I did not need any assistance. I will keep you updated in the future regarding the durability and hopefully not start giving me problems, but for now, I would recommend it to friends and family.
I upgraded from a DCP-765DN which was deemed an 'admittedly a Deal' model. I do not think there is anything wrong with my previous Brother or the years of service it has already provided me. I just wanted to print color when I am working from home this day. I am happy with the direction that Brother has taken with their printers and the interface. I updated the printer firmware immediately, so if there were currently existing problems the firmware fixes them. I have not experienced them and cannot comment on what may be a problem or annoyance if one uses the printer without a firmware update. The update was easy to perform, and went smoothly. The printer is very smaller in size compared to the one I have used previously, which was an enjoyable surprise. The interface is cleaner and easier to use. It does have some weight though. I believe it's 90% due to being a touch screen, my previous Brother printer was just two LCD lines and a handful of buttons. This printer is much quieter than the one mentioned above. I explained the beauty of my initial print. However, some people within my household were pleasantly surprised that I had printed something. They did not hear the printer whirring at all. I do not know if anyone else has printed anything until they arrive in my office to collect it when listening to music at a reasonable volume while working. I set up the computer quickly and it can easily be viewed, and printed to all the computers on my network. Scanning is easier and there is now an option to push the scan to a Dropbox location, which was easy to setup and works fantastically. Print quality is excellent for a consumer machine. I can print drawings that are meant to be 11x17, on 8.5x11, and still read the fine print as many color printer reviews have said. The colors on page are significantly darker than on screen. If, for example, I have a light green highlight on the screen that is easy to see through, it will be difficult to read when printed. This was reasonably expected, even on commercial grade printers, though it seemed darker than I expected. I do not print photographs with this nor will I, that is a job for a decent inkjet printer with high quality paper. I do not enjoy the 11x17 paper capacity of this printer, but it is standard for the price range. I would need a more complex machine to handle much larger paper. The only fault is with my budget, not with Brother. I had zero complaints so far. That is a miracle when it comes to dealing with printers.
We use this household printer for two retired high productivity types after several disappointing junkers failed us. That may not be a fair comparison. Upon completing some tasks pertaining to bringing it up to speed, the software is quite impressive once it has been installed and is functioning correctly. I do not feel the need to complain because it is not making any noise.
I decided to buy a laser printer after years of buying cheap jet prints. I wanted features for the scanner, color, and wifi. That printer was with them. I have had a printer for eighteen months, and it works great. I enjoy being able to print from anywhere in my house from any of my three computers or phone via wifi. The scanner works fine and it is all over the internet. I can email or send a scan of the item to my computer. The black ink lasts a little over a year. The color is still good but it is decreasing. I used a knockoff brand, such as Valuetoner, instead of the expensive Brother ink, and the black cartridge worked perfectly. It is able to fax using the landline. The print also has a copier, which works well. It will print on two sides, which saves paper, and looks great. It is worth the extra cost that has come to light since I purchased the print.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
It accomplishes exactly what I need, it is wireless black and white twosided printing. The set up was easy and the printer work is great on mobile devices using AirPrint.
It works wirelessly and prints high quality. The best part is that Brother technical support was excellent in assisting me with the setup.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I'm able to print from my computer, iPhone, or iPad, using the wireless printing feature.
My inkjet printer died, so I was in the market for a new one. While the Inkjet was a color printer, I realized I did not need color printing. I use a black and white laser printer and it is fast.
I was going to get one with a scanner and copying function, but the more features you have, the more chances of getting wrong. The only thing that is not right is that it crinkles envelopes as they are being fed out.
It requires minimal setup and operation.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
There are two issues in comparison to the Brother L2340DW and HL2360DW in this category. The HL-2360DW has a 10/100 base-tX Ethernet port that connects the router directly to the printer. The HL-2360DW does not have this feature. It will connect wirelessly to the router, which is acceptable to most people. Other than that all other specs are identical between these two newer printers. Therefore the HPL 2340DW would be useful for most people.
The saying is, I bought this for my girlfriend and used it as the base print in her foiling kit. Additionally, the ability to print via the telephone app is of greatest use.
I purchased a Canon LBP600D or something similar, and found it very disappointing. We do not use mac drivers, we have a mix at our house. Canon. You can't go back to 2002 or 2014, or there will be new devices. All devices should work on Mac, Windows, and iOS devices. This installation failed on my computer. I installed it like every other printer that I have ever used, by plugging it into Power and PC, wrong. You should first install the software. I could not always get it to work, and this is coming from someone who used to setup technology solutions for small offices. If that is not the problem, then how can the normal nontech person? It is as easy as you could ever wish for. I placed the toner cartridge on the desk quickly, pulled the shipping tabs out, and then read the instructions to plug the USB into your computer, unlike the ignorant Canon. After I plugged it in Windows announced I get it, you're ready to go. After completing a successful test print, I proceed to download the driver software to configure the wireless. I do not care to use the CD's hardware unless absolutely necessary, because the driver on the website is much more likely to be updated. I downloaded the software from the website FrienduUSA.com and used the wireless method. I installed it with the correct settings. Regardless, the options indicate you are intending to use the system, thus requiring that it performs appropriate next steps. I set up the wireless connection, and printed a test copy from my Macbook. I have had a success. When I opened my iPhone and went to the print option on a picture, I found the Brother HL l2340DW. Select it and press print. Out came the print in absolutely perfect quality. It was a very easy to install wireless printer. I highly recommend it, based on its seamless installation and printing quality. If you search, replacement cartridges can be obtained for $17. The offer up to 2600 full page prints. The only complaint I have is the built in power cable. Most devices would use the standard three prong power cable located in the back of a typical PC or desktop computer. I received four inches of loose from it when I set it up. I want to print random documents using this printer, because I wanted it to be wireless. However, I purchased it for my girlfriend, who is in her graduate program. She needs to print between 10 and 50 pages a day and she waited in line at school every morning for 30 minutes to use their printer. If you look up How to Refill Toner for Brother HL-L2340 printer on YouTube, you will see some great tutorials and save even more money. You could buy a $30 inkjet printer that gets 200-2600 prints per cartridge, but how often do you end up replacing that cartridge? It is approximately five to ten times more than a laser printer. A complete pack of ink cartridges cost about 35 dollars. Multiply that by five and you're getting a one hundred and seventy dollars, depending on inkjet cartridges. The laser printer might have some life left in its toner. It depends on your objectives. I prefer to use it frequently, but never in high volume. If you leave me a comment, I will respond in a timely manner. It works great, it is easy to setup, and the design is very modern and extremely compact.
I have a Chromebook and am undergoing some grad school courses that require a lot of documentation. It is also time for a new printer. I am using the wireless, since my work is held in Google Drive. I had great knowledge on this printer. The set up guide is minimal. No, I did not want to have it set up as a standard printer and therefore need another computer attached to it. If you give me a Google Cloud Print, I can find it. Plug it in and press the button that will give you the internet connection. I think you can find the IP address that it was assigned, then type it in your browser. The guide will allow you to configure all the options on that website. You have the option to alter the sleeping time so the period will not hibernate every other minute. I quickly printed this guide when I found it. I am now a happy student.
I decided to get my personal Brother to reduce the amount of wires around my workstation. The wireless setup was successful for me. I configured this printer to work on Mac Air OS Sierra 10.12.5 - no issues here. When the printer was set up wirelessly, the printer appeared magically in my Mac's printer list. The driver to Windows 7 Professional is from the Brother website. My only issue is that when I was adding a new printer in the Devices and Printers area, I was looking for a driver called Brother HL2340DW. I believe I should have been looking for the Brother HL2340D without the W. Acer Chromebook C7 710 Setup Google Cloud Print with the help of a few Youtube videos. I could provide you with some comparison pictures later in this review. The print quality when printing from computer to printer on a wireless network is crisp and flawless. There have been a lot of complaints about deep sleep mode. I found a YouTube video entitled, Deep Sleep on Brother Printer Turned Off. The video covers how to turn off deep sleep mode on this HL2340DW printer. I proceeded with the task, because I noticed that quickly after setting up the wireless network, the printer went into sleep mode in approximately one minute. It took me many attempts to press the Back and Down buttons at exactly the same time as demonstrates in the video, however I did eventually make it happen and the setting was changed. As an aside, I do not possess a heavy duty printer, so I do not always operate my printer, therefore I simply turn the computer off. I followed the Dan C's tip about enabling 'Continue' mode on the toner, please read his review for complete explanation on this. I would choose this printer for my money.
