WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I wasn't sure what to expect when I purchased this lock. Traditionally, I typically purchase name brand security items but felt this item could make my list. The Lock comes with a very nice box with all the necessary tools including a drill bit and a cardboard template. The installation of the lock took less than thirty minutes. The security technology behind the lock that powers fingerprints, pass codes, and card identifications is nicely done. I can get into the menus but eventually it becomes fairly simple. I feel like the lock was worth the price.
I use my fingerprint to enter.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I would recommend this lock because it has every feature I needed and it works reliably. Several years ago, I purchased a kevo deadbolt. It did have most of the features I needed, unfortunately, it relied entirely on bluetooth. It was hard to set up, and my wife attempted to enter the house the kevo failed. It has a touchscreen that allows you to input a sixdigit code. The fun part is that there are four circles each with four digits each time you input a code. Each number is randomized to ensure that it is never the same pattern. You could let people watch you input your code, but they will not be able to guess. I tested it with several people, but no one was able to figure out my code. You can set it to static but then it will be easy for prying to figure out how to get into your house. The door sensor is wireless so you can check the status of the lock from anywhere in the world as long as you can get on the internet. Other features include the ability to set codes that only work once between certain hours and certain days or you can unlock it remotely with the internet connection and the app. It is connected to you either by bluetooth or wireless technology. You are able to switch between the devices in the app. It logs every entry and sends you notifications. You can review the log to see who came in, and when. The lock also shows the battery level in the app and has a low battery indicator. However, after two solid months the battery level still at 90%. The lock is expensive but is worth every penny. This has been in use for approximately two months. I love it even more, but my wife loves it as well. I own a very nice lock that is well built and powerful. The only issue is that the Secure Link module needs to be able to communicate better with both WiFi and the lock itself. I would love it if the lock would not auto lock if the door is open. For example I have it set to autolock after five minutes, but lets say I am bringing in the groceries and have the front door open for more than five minutes someone walks in and closes the door and the cylinder bangs against the door jamb. A truly smart lock should know not to engage the lock if the door is open or closed. Why not at least have the option to override autolock if door is open? That would prevent damage to both the door jamb and the lock itself. However, despite the small inconveniences, I still give it five stars.
Installation was quick. The house was almost finished. Everything works out for me. Your wireless router or wireless extender should also be within 10 feet of the receiver. To ensure this, I placed my WiFi extender and the Lockly WiFi receiver on the same outlet next to the door. Transmission is a breeze. You can use the lock without the wifi receiver as it connects by bluetooth to your phone. You will lose monitoring when you are not close to the lock, as well as some functionality. This lock has multiple access methods. The pin on this lock must be six to eight digits. You are able to change positions with the pad or leave them in the same position depending on how you choose to position them. Randomization serves to discourage people from seeing your pattern when entering the pin. You can add guest accounts with their own pins and set expiration dates. The fingerprint sensor works very well for me. It asks for six positions, and then you can select to add six more to make it more clear. For example, I can set up all five fingers for myself and others. The fingerprint reading and unlock response is very fast. My father worked a lot with manual labor but the fingerprint sensor does not consistently work. I don't like his fingerprints anymore. He had chosen the original key method which is complete with two keys and a door close/open sensor. This sensor informs the lock that it should automatically lock when it is closed. You can set how long it takes for the door to close before it locks automatically. I am very happy with the lock, and hope that it helps you track the door and unlock it. The lock looks great and provides multiple options to utilise it depending on needs. I scored the lock 96 based on Thomas Lee, 'Amazon reviewer.
I like this smart lock. It is easy to install and setup. I do not have to worry anymore about my children losing their keys because I added their fingerprints to the app as well as using a number code for them. This is a very good design and model. I love the way the numbers change and move around while entering your code so no one can know your passcodes. There are many great features in one design. I still have trouble setting up my Alexa camera and my doorbell, but Lockly doesn't work for that app. My 5-star rating is still five stars.
The word smart lock translates to third smart lock. The first one was basic and not connected to the internet. The second one was expensive and I had it for less than a year, it was very poor quality. This is my favorite. It is an awesome fingerprint reader. It is really quick and accurate. I would say that it detects my finger 99% of the time within half a second. I have sent my neighbors a code once, to use from the app when I need them to throw a package in my house. I also have recurring codes for the housecleaners, that only work on certain days and time. I strongly recommend the lock.
I love this lock. I have previously had a keycode lock which was so slow I would revert to using my key. At this time, I find it surprising how quickly the fingerprint unlocks. The wifi link works perfectly. This was installed quickly, too. I would recommend this lock to anyone. The only downside is that you cannot create one time codes on wifi. I created a few in case I needed them, but so far the wifi has worked perfectly and I have not had to use them. I was hesitant to pay that much for a lock, but really wish I had done it sooner. My daily life is easier because of it.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
It was packed nicely. The handle is dirty but the handle came off when I wiped with a towel. It is sturdy and heavy. I also enjoy the color. The setup was fairly straight forward. I think you can install a regular doorknob as well. The fingerprint program registered without any issues and worked very well. I get paranoid about auto lock, and end up checking to see if it did lock, but so far it has been reliable. It seems to be a reasonably decent product. My question now is how long the battery actually lasts. I have been using this for four months now and I will do everything I can to correct it. The plan has been successful. There are no issues whatsoever. I am satisfied with it as long as I have not needed to replace batteries either. I hope that this information is useful.
I use KPP Fingerprint Door Lock because it meets my requirements. It was installed on the entrance door between the garage and the dining room. It is not a dead bolt but it is useful inside the garage. Bad guys can unlock it by simply inserting a hard object into the gap between the door and the doorframe. This one is simple to use because I do not need fancy features such as a digital keypad. Unlock it with your fingerprint or with a backup key in an emergency situation. The lock looks, feels fairly solid and heavy, and the installation was not complicated. Capturing fingerprints was a bit tricky. Each time you want to add new fingerprints, you have to unscrew the inside handle cap. I hope they can redesign to make it easier and more convenient. I do not like that the inside cable is too long and that it is not designed to be stored/organized very well within the handle.
The product appears to be of a high quality. Unfortunately, the installation and setting instructions are not very clear. I believe that it is a translation from Chinese. I skipped the installation instructions and installed the door lock without understanding how it goes. It is not that difficult, but here are two things to point out. The tube comes in two different widths, a longer and a shorter. I only use one set, and I used the short tubes to make a slim interior door. The screws go through the door latch into the tubes, tight down and you are good. If you want to view the videos, you should watch the Lock function and Fingerprint programming pages. If you attempt to follow the printed instructions, you will become frustrated. It is simple to watch the videos.
This lock was easy to install and program. It functions very well and is quiet when the lock engages or disengages. The only drawback I have run into is if you want it to stay unlocked so a guest can just open the door, you have to press the inside button for at least one second. It is not obvious whether an indicator light is on the inside handle that will tell you whether or not the mode has been changed. The indicator light is on the outer door handle. It is not a major issue, but you can request that you switch back to automatic locking. The only way to confirm the mode change is to open the door, looking at the outside indicator light, or to try the outside handle. My preferred selection is a light up on the inside handle so you can press the button quickly to unlock or lock the vehicle instead of switching to the press and hold mode with no interior indication.
The idea of having multiple children and trying to get kids to remember to bring their own, made perfect sense. I am pleased with this purchase. It is of good quality and solid. This handle has been replaced once and it took less than ten minutes. You should be able to use a cell phone that comes with biometrics to assist in programming. It took a long time to get the entire family together. Then it did to log everyone's fingerprints. I carried two fingers on both hands. Simply exert pressure on the reader so that it recieves the passage in a first reading. The motor is smooth and quiet, unlike keypad deadbolt, and the auto lock feature is good. When you bring groceries, the option to turn it off from the inside button is handy. It also has back keys, to ease worries about batteries. I have used the Energizer brand, and there was no issue. It is used thirtyfive times per day. The only thing that it is missing is the ability to deregister just one person's fingerprint. Completely reset the whole thing and add them all again. It also has a keypad deadbolt installed on top, and allows me to delete individual codes or program programs for one time use codes. I am planning to purchase another one for an interior door. I believe it's worth more than the selling price.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
Just completed installing the Scyan X5 Fingerprint door lock on my garage door. The older lock has been retorted by a Scyan X5. Installation went smoothly. It fit into the old locks cutout, and required no door modification. It took following the instructions in the manual to be easy setup. They have informed me of my instructions and I did not know what I was doing before. I like their locks, because they provide me with a single pin, key, key fob, or a number I can use to access a house. I also like that I can automatically lock the door each time it closes or keep it from locking until I want it to lock. I do not worry about losing the key. I find the front door locks quite pleasing because it has a lot of backdoor features. The Scyan boys did their homework on this one. I would purchase from them again, for future lock needs. It is hard to beat the price.
It had simple instructions. It took me 30 minutes for the setup and installation process. You get good quality for such a high price.
It was a little confusing following the steps to record the fingerprint, but once you get it, it is easy. Sometimes a few fingers will not work due to damage to the skin so you can simply use another finger. The quality is good and the price cannot be better. Just forget about the keys, this system is the easiest way to open the door. For emergency purposes, the keys are included. I am sorry that I am unable to perform a thorough photoshoot and take the photo for this review.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I haven't purchased one in quite some time because the previous one I had years ago was purchased at Lowe's. The technology has changed dramatically over what was previously available. Because this computer has not missed a single scan since I installed it, and it is probably longer. It looks and feels great when your hand touches it, it is the highest quality. I really like that they include batteries. I was completely amazed by the fact it uses a laser cut key for manual unlock. It adds an additional layer of high end features that I have not seen at this price point before. The only thing that took me an additional minute or two was the plate that goes on to the door where your latch is actually going to be coming through. This unit had square edges all the way around. I placed the door mechanical in the latch and lightly screwed it in, and traced the edges with the number two pencil. I then used my simple pocket knife to get the edges right. If you run into this problem with any of the units that you purchase, and have a sharp pocket knife you should have no problem rectifying the situation. I had debated taking a star off for that however, I looked around on Amazon and I think they all come with the more squared plate. I in no way can gripe if it seems to be the new building standard. It is very well fitted and you will not have to worry about any noise or vibration when installing it. My server room is right off of my hallway. My friend's kids come over. I have a certain amount of confidence in knowing that they are going to leave it alone and not have to enter there. Yes, I would purchase this brand again. It is a nobrainer to purchase off of Amazon at this price point.
I am very happy I found this. I have been searching for an easy way to secure my room from kids without worrying about carrying keys around, and this works perfectly. It installs just like a standard door handle, with the only additional steps being the batteries and a quick insertion of a wire which is sufficient long enough so I didn't have to worry about that. Programming my fingerprint was pretty simple too. It automatically locks when I shut the door unless I hold the button to turn that feature off, which is especially nice so I don't have to worry about accidentally locking my dog in my room if I have to run out for a minute. The only negative aspect is that I am not familiar with the keys. So I do not know how difficult it would be to have copies made if I were to use one of these as a front door latch. It is unimportant, since the individuals that have the need to enter the building should have their fingerprints preserved. I like it enough that if it holds up well over the next few months, I will very likely get one for my front door as well.
I have been looking for a biometric lock for my office door. This is great It is sturdy and the finish is very nice. I use my thumb, and boom it opens up. I have been fine with it. That is highly recommended.
The installation process was a bit slow due to the parts being preassembled and not on the instructions. There are two lengths of screws that can be screwed into the door, but they are not listed in the instructions. They are available in different door thicknesses. Use the length you need. Using fingerprints is easy. Follow the instructions here, because they are well written. The sensor has been able to read fingerprints, nor have they been problematic in openings.
It is easy to install. I was excited to be able to add a fingerprint for pet sitters, then remove them. Do not worry about lost keys or someone duplicating it.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I own four apartments to lease AirBNB, and these locks are a great investment. They're very simple to install. They look stunning and professional. The best part is that they come with a manual key that you can use to manually open the lock should something fail to work, such as a malfunction or batteries die on you. I purchased this bluetooth enabled version because it keeps a record of all the unlocks, timestamps and the user who opened the door. In order to download this information to your mobile device you will need to download their app. It is great to keep track of when my cleaning lady serviced the apartments. The locks are simple to program. You can program using their app or on the keypad itself. When a guest checks out, I delete their code and program in the next guest. I love this lock. I bought one for all of my rentals, and one for myself.
The product features a gorgeous design and extremely rugged construction. It reads your fingerprint very quickly, is easy to program, and very simple to understand. It feels solid and strong every time you open a door. The product description is well stated. Also, the keypad does not collect grease from touching it. I am very happy with this purchase.
I have had no issue with it for over a month. The only issue is that I have to reprogram my wife's finger prints on a scanner. I installed it myself without any difficulty. My kids no longer have to carry a key to school. I just walk up to my house and scan my finger print, and the door opens. I programmed the door to stay open during a Halloween party at my house and everyone got in and out of the house with no issue. I suggest keeping the manual close by, because it takes time to get used to reprogramming the door.
This lever lock offers instant reading and combinations. A backup key is also provided. The lock uses regular AA batteries and it is super power saving. It is Alexa compatible if you purchased the WiFi adapter as well. You can tell Alexa to open or lock or check the lock status. On UltraLoq, you can set the time length to autolock. There is also an option to pass through that will make the lock unlocked. Ultraloq has very friendly and highquality customer service.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
This lock comes with a manual and is extremely valuable. I am currently using it on the door of a bedroom. I am not using the fingerprint feature. The manual is very helpful though. The lock is elegant and silky to the touch. I do not like fingerprint locks. I am unsure whether or not to soon install the batteries and utilize the fingerprint feature. Luckily, it comes with keys.
It was easy to install and the program has been working great for two weeks.
I did not do the fingerprinting part yet, but once the temperature comes up, I can set it because it will definitely be a lot easier getting in by fingerprint than fumbling with keys.
