WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I have installed a few of these now. You need a program and a method to separate the tire bead from the rim in order to install these. The programer tool will train the ECU to recognize the positions of the sensors.
I used Autel Programmer to identify a bad sensor and copied ID numbers from body of the bad sensor. The hard part was getting beads on the tire to break. The TPMS light went out after several drive cycles. I do not use any other technical support. Other than files on Autel's website for downloading program files. This sensor is a little smaller then the original TRW, and I have not noticed any balance issues.
It is a great replacement for the original equipment, and works well. I will update if it fails early.
I purchased the Autel MX sensor to replace the dead OEM sensor in a 2011 Toyota Sienna. I programmed the MX sensor using the matching code from the OEM sensor instead of making the car learn the new sensor. I found the problem sensor ID by reading all four sensor numbers stored in the car with the Autel MaxiTPMS tool. I took a photo with my phone and tested each sensor with the 501 tool. It was very easy to reprogram the new MX sensor with the 501 tool. I had a tire change and I brought a new sensor to the tire shop. Yes, it moved to another area. The car recognized that the old ID had come back on, and the TPMS light went out after about 20 minutes of driving seven miles. I went back and cleared the error code with the 501 tool, after making sure that there were no other errors, using a separate OBD II tool.
A wireless tester worked great. The sensor measures pressure, temp, and ID for several weeks now.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
This scanner is very good. It has live data, active test programs, key control, and much more. I have not had an issue with the scanner. It works better than a name brand scanner and is very affordable. The scanner is being used in a professional mechanic shop.
The dealer could not figure out a bad wheel hub.
So far so good with this scanner. It was a good value for the price.
It is very easy to use compared to other scan tools on the market. This is probably the best for the money.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I am a professional mechanic and write this on my wife's account. This is possibly the best scanner in this price range. It supports vehicles that many scanners do not, such as Volvo. It supports a wide range of modules that can be scanned for codes as well as the ability to display values and sensor data for the particular module scanned. The scan and connect isn't very fast, but it is faster than many, and the functionality is worthwhile the short wait. If you are requiring data for testing or maintenance procedures, a true bidirectional scanner should not be your choice. Key Coding is not ideal. If you want to code all the new keys that you need, beware of using BMW or Mercedes. This is because your vehicle information may be on random vehicles, this is not completely accurate. I have not noticed any real pattern for this. Sometimes it will not recognize VINs for vehicles, as it did previously that day, but it may after a few tries. The only thing I do not like is that if a module does not connect or return a signal, and that module exists on the vehicle, it will not explicitly tell you this, which may cause misdiagnosis for a less experienced technician. Updates to software are relatively quick and simple.
I had been researching my Mercedes, which I am currently experiencing issues with. I certainly found a few scanners on Amazon. I hate to compare brands, however, I purchased the first one. It was able to retrieve some codes but not enough to determine the issues in my car. I was able to determine that my TCU was bad. Unlike other scanners this was able to scan over 40 monitors. For me, one of the most useful things was the live view. It helps a lot if you are testing a part while the car is on. This is not something you would spend 100 dollars on. I feel that if you misdiagnose your car without a scanner, you will spend more money on the wrong parts. The one I received contained many bugs. They have gone away since I downloaded the free software update. It is extremely important that you update it with the most recent version. This tool helps you point out relatively simple things. If you work in your own automobiles, pay it yourself. In order to answer a question from anyone, here are a few images of the cars we have.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
It is quick, easy to setup and use, comes with a charging base, and comes in a sturdy storage box.
I like the simplicity of the scanner. It is very fast and it does the job well. I do car repair as a hobby. The price is reasonable. I purchased this scanner to perform adaptive learning on a transmission for a 2016 Ford Focus. It worked flawlessly.
I have been using this scanner for a week, and have found two misdiagnosed vehicles from other shops. This scanner loads quickly and is very userfriendly. I am happy that it is trying to figure out all of the things it can do at this point.
Good product for Gasolina, however, the product does not contain software for HD. This is an excellent product and easy to use and complete.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I really enjoy the price, and the ability to work on and explore my own vehicle. I also have a professional career in transit vehicle fleet maintenance and I enjoy keeping both my own vehicles and my family vehicles on top of things. I am the go to guy for my family and friends. AUTEL MS906BT is simple to point people in the right direction or repair.
If anyone is thinking of buying it, I would use this scanner. It is easy to use and has a thorough diagnostic capability. It will work with any module available for use through the manufacturer. I am very glad that I purchased this, and wish I had done it sooner.
It produces clear results. The case, cords, and adapters are arranged neatly in the case provided.
I had been unsure of purchasing this unit for some time, but I do not know why I did not receive it sooner. The diagnostic capabilities of this scanner far surpasses others. It is easy to navigate, offers a wide range of bidirectional controls and has a good battery life. You should purchase one. You will not be disappointed.
Great product, as described, and works perfectly. I have increased my productivity with this product and it gives me five stars.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I originally used a cheap little scanner, but I had to google about the issue. I then put together a small presentation for the customer. I began to earn money, so I decided to upgrade to this bad boy. I am able to do everything on this device because of the ability to have a full on tablet computer with an integrated scanner. I'm able to run a diagnostic scan of the entire vehicle in two seconds. If I turn on my phone's hotspot and have WiFi, I'm able to quickly repair the problem, send the report to the customer and proceed in a few minutes. It is important to protect your investment. I have significant speed and flexibility to work alongside other people using this scanner or laptop. You would have to have this thing in your life if you have a very large collection of cars that you scan.
My good friend is a licensed, professional car dealer. He convinced me to engage in business with him. I knew that he earned some decent money, so I did not hesitate to spend some on my own professional equipment. I decided to use this device after talking to my friend and exploring different options. This one has been tested on the 2019 Ford F150. The software is updated for 2020. You also have to ensure the tool covers a wide variety of makes and models, including American, European, and Asian cars. This tool has been successfully tested on a Mercedes, Ford, and Toyota so far. Also, this tool has its own power source, so you are independent from a vehicles accumulator. This particular model requires an Internet connection to access some features and update software. It is also best to have it when starting an Autel profile. It is a plugandplay easy to use kit. If you are fearful, take a look at the comprehensive guide that comes with the case. Additionally, the case itself is very secure. It is not uncommon for the plugs used in older vehicles to be modified and used in modern cars. Of course what is the most important is the ability to read different error codes, interpret them, and provide a report. The test results you can conduct with this tool cover all possible aspects of a scanner. I was considering the cons of this tool, probably none, but there are always ways to improve such as the user interface, which is fine, but why not make it even better?'
It accomplishes nearly all of what you could ask it to accomplish.
This product is great. We have six vehicles, different makes and models, from antique to new cars to trucks and SUVs. Most of our work is done entirely by us. If you are unaware of vehicle parts, purchase a simpler model or you will find it difficult to handle. I have always wanted one.
If you are just like me and deal with a variety of automobiles and do not want to be stuck with the ridiculous diagnostic fees at the dealerships, this is an excellent tool for you. It literally does almost anything you can think of.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
Maxidas Smile makes sure the scanner is accurate I also have the ability to perform the 02 test, update the oil, install the brakes, and many other functions In the United States, however, there is supposed to be a difference between the N3 N4 N5 and N15. After contacting the manufacturer, that is supposed to be missing. This scanner is extremely recommended, as I am a DIY man and purchased four of it.
This scanner does the job advertised in the Features. This is for my 2013 Silverado, so that I can clean, replace throttle body, brake bleeding, test HVAC actuators, and reset what I need. The live data is very helpful to give overall engine/tranny health. I would like to mention that the older the vehicle, the more excessive the item would be. A vehicle older tends to have less data in its modules than a newer vehicle. The large screen is extremely attractive with a high quality build quality. The pullout stand will fit nicely over the steering wheel when sitting inside a stationary vehicle for scans and analysis.
I was watching video footage of a DS708 for my GL450 that had a malfunction after changing the control arm. The Indianapolis location that I visited was supposed to be an authorized Mercedes repair shop, but the 10k reader cannot get into the Mercedes computer. This saved me both time and money. It took me a long time to find airmatics. However, I did discover the amazing teach in mode that walks you through the solution. It's a life saver.
I purchased this product to be able to manage key control in a 2004 Pilot. I purchased the unit for myself and discovered more use for it for selfmaintenance that I perform on my many manufacturers vehicles. I recommend performing an update on your Android and the Autel application. I believe that the time to perform the update was approximately four hours when I received the unit.
I am very pleased with this automotive diagnostic computer. First of all, Autel has been very responsive to specific questions regarding tasks I need to complete and which tool can handle those tasks. Injector coding, rear brake service on VW & Audi, etc. Shipping was very quick, packaging was great, I was able to hook into the 38 pin Mercedes connector and access the Transmission Control Module to perform tests and resets. This scanner allowed me to solve the problem by clearing faults. I am satisfied with this scanner. Maintaining the current version of this tool requires frequent updates.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I am impressed with what this tool can do for that low price. In the box it comes with a free one year subscription and then you must pay around 600 dollars per year.
I was skeptical of buying it after reading reviews about nightmares. It's expensive because I am just a weekend warrior. Since I have a BMW, Hyundai, and Dodge truck as well as my children's cars, I decided I wanted to purchase it. When I registered, I installed the CD that was provided without problems. I purchased a 32GB dualcore SD card and installed all updates. Nothing went wrong. I will order a further 32GB to keep it safe. No problem, my serial number has a Q, and that is the US version. I also use my wifi. I haven't used it yet, but I am excited and can't wait. I plan to make some keys first. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I promise that you will not regret buying it.
I finally acquired the Maxidas DS808 after an year of looking at them and discussing them with The Snap-on and Matco tool trucks. The scanner has been used on my vehicle for two weeks. It can be charged to a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle and a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado without any issues. I believe this scanner has saved me a total of $950 in jobs. I believe that the scanner will last a lifetime and that it is worth its weight in gold. I was able to perform a transmission line pressure test on a GMC Acadia, reset the adaptive learn programming, fix a slight shifting issue, TPMS on a 2014 Silverado, correct a TPMS issue and engine warm up sequence issue on a 2012 Dodge Durango Citadel, troubleshoot and correct a serious electrical problem on an 02 VW Beetle, and more.
I am very happy with the purchase. It is a great improvement over my Creader VIII. There are tons of options and information. I think it is a big investment for a weekend warrior, but it is worth it. I believe that the price for the updates is too high for men that are not professional mechanics.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I really enjoy this. It tells me many things. It saved me the price I paid for the very first use, by steering me away from buying a part for $115. I am able to learn more than I have in any of my previous units. In addition, I have not used professional level units such as the high quality Autel units that require way too much for subscriptions. This one doesn't require a subscription, yet it allows downloading the latest profiles for many models. It will read aspects of specific automobile brands that a simple OBDII diagnostic tool cannot read. When I bought this, I received no codes from all of my other units. It pointed me to P0231 (low voltage to fuel pump on our Ford Expedition). I changed my mind as well. I isolated a bad relay and replaced it for $15 so what's not to like? The operation is really uncomfortable. The vehicle brand profile is not saved. I have to navigate through the menu each time to get my vehicle's information. It made it seem that I should be able to use the USB to download directly to the unit, but I could not. I had to put the SD card on a USB device and plug it into my computer. I would download profiles, then place it back into the unit. It went smoothly after. However, I'm ashamed that the instructions did not tell me to do that. It is a tedious process. If you do not do this, you may miss out on updating profiles. This is a very important process because the logs you save to the device while reading from the car's computer or ECU are not dated, so you get to a log and must just remember what it was and when it was taken. I merely try to always delete them so when I do need to download one I know it is the only one on there. It is difficult if you have more than one, and you are not sure which is the latest. It is somewhat strange that I cannot put a battery into it and play with it to erase logs. I need to connect it to a car or computer in order to get it to power up. I find it somewhat strange that I cannot just go one place in the menu to do all diagnostics. I have two main ones, 'Scan' and 'Obdi'. I am deciphering that the OBDII section is the standard codes across many cars and the Scan has more proprietary aspects. The instructions appear to be lacking. I am often merely rummaging around the menu in order to locate what other information this can provide to me. Is it difficult to create a meaningful set of instructions? Wow, pay me to do it. That is a lot of awkwardness. It might be difficult to find a reason it is still on the list of 5 stars. I have not found anything better. Once I get to know a difficult area it gives me the required information. My first diagnosis has paid for itself. I did not think that this would solve the problem, but this unit combined with internet searches is a fantastic combination and it enables many of us home mechanics to save a surprising amount of money and solve some problems that would otherwise be very difficult.
It is really well done and I really enjoy the Autel ML629 Diagnostic Scan Tool. It is one of the most advanced, budget friendly diagnostic tools that I have ever purchased. My 2001 BMW M3 has a reoccurring check engine light come on because my solenoid pack fails. I have known about it for some time, and with inspection coming up, I wanted to get myself a diagnostic tool to verify the fault before the repair and verify it is resolved once I make the repair, so I purchased this. I knew I had to make a review once I used it. I saw how detailed it was and how easy it was to use. The unit then asked if the car was Asian, European, or USA. I have never asked anyone with code to do that. I selected European, then BMW. After clicking on BMW it populates a list of literally every model BMW ever made. Click on your model when you scroll down. I scrolled down to 81 M3_S54_COUPE. In the second instance, if you are interested in a check on the transmission or the engine system, you will need to answer that. I chose the engine system. The unit then populated my codes concerning the VANOS and cam shaft advancement errors. The faults were gone while I reset the computer and scanned the computer again. They will eventually come back until I replace the solenoid pack. The Autel M629 Diagnostic Scan Tool does what it advertises and is very easy to use. It also scans ABS and SRS systems. However, I have not had the chance to test those yet, but I do intend to. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase, and plan on purchasing a few more as gifts for the upcoming holiday season. Thank you for reading.
This was a big lifesaver for me and my family. My 350z is my daily drive to work, and one day it just had a weird failing engine sound. I initially believed it was the spark plug, but I luckily ordered this OBD2 scanner and it came really quickly. The camshaft sensor was defective. This unit was very useful. I would not have known about it. I was able to repair it myself and saved hundreds of dollars in repairs. I believe that it is an excellent investment because I will be able to perform monthly checks on my three vehicles at home. Being able to diagnose my cars at any moment is incredible. The Autel MaxiLink is very well built, and the cable is thick and long. It can diagnose any car, as long as it has an OBD2 port. The price was amazing.
I was surprised by something. It found seven codes, we did not even have a check engine light. If you suspect something is not working well, then this is a good thing to have done. Codes are revealed that explain what it may be like an exhaust leak, a car running rich or lean, etc. This reader can do a full test which controls your rpm and everything. It is a bit difficult to watch your car do things without your physical input, but of course you know it is just the scanner doing its work. It is worth upgrading to this since it can actually try and figure out the health of your vehicle and make sure you will be safe as well. Check the abs and airbags, and assuring that you are good to hit the road.
I spent hundreds of hours researching the internet in order to obtain this item for Amazon.com. The package contains a large amount of features normally found on more expensive scan tools. It's a replacement for a Harbor Freight scan that stopped working without support. The tool came with the following components: OBDII cable, USB cable, manual, quick start guide, and padded case so it is safe when not in use. It requires no troublesome batteries and lights up when connected to your vehicle or your laptop. When you register the unit online you are able to download Autel's Maxi PC Suite to upload the latest software for the unit.
WHAT WE LIKED MOST:
I enjoyed this, it exceeded my expectations. This is an extremely well made cable set. A graph mode on the scanner allows you to scroll down or up to view a data item. The graph seems to be very fast communication with the vehicles PCM. This almost looks like a scope trace! It is unreasonable for something at such a price. I don't like the update feature which allows you to get recent code library releases and communication releases. I was unable to handle the files and I had a computer technician assist me in obtaining an updated version. It's probably partially my fault that I am not a computer geek as well. My older eyes have a hard time seeing the outline highlight around a selected menu item while on the main menu screen. Supposedly in the battery charging starting system test, this tool has an excessive diode ripple message that will come up if there is a problem. It is an appealing, however, I have not used it for any reason, in order to evaluate its effectiveness. I was surprised to find out that the multimeter uses graphs to measure AC Volts. It shows you a graphing multimeter type trace for AC waveforms to measure AC voltages. The display voltage surprised me. It reads like a dmm unless there is varying voltage being measured. The tool switches to graphing by itself. It displays the minimum and maximum frequency and the duty cycle. This may be an efficient method for using a throttle position sensor or similar device in the event of an intermittent glitch. I repair automobiles occasionally at home. I do not want to bring things from work so I will be happy if the functions on this tool just minimally work for the price. A nice feature is I/M readiness monitors for the emissions test. If you are in a state that has an emissions test and have to go in for inspection, you will need to know if you have completed a drive cycle that met all monitor requirements. This tool displays the information. I wish my more expensive tools had a similar interface.
This device features a battery tester, a multimeter, and an OBDII scanner. It can test both conventional flooded and AGM lead acid batteries. I own a Lexus hybrid that is equipped with a 12volt Panasonic AGM. When attached to my old battery, this device immediately booted up and showed a 9.8V terminal potential, which unsurprisingly explains why my car was not booting up properly with a blind spot monitor failure, blinking infotainment screen, a blank transmission indicator instead of a 'P' and no green'ready' light. I could have figured out from the voltage alone that the battery was on its last legs without checking the CCA, but that is not why this device is good. Two days earlier, after driving the car for an hour, the voltage was measured at 12V+, but this tester at the time showed the CCA was inadequate. I wouldn't have thought to replace a $300 Japanese battery when the voltage looked normal and thought my new tester might be wrong, but this device tipped me off that something might be amiss and it saved me from potentially getting stranded on my upcoming road trip It is a very accurate voltmeter, but you may need something else to measure sensitive electronics. The OBDII reader has a built in emissions readiness mode that shows a checklist of all the subsystems and whether or not they have fault codes. It contains live data, so you can plot engine speed, O2 sensor reading, and other information. It does not have the features found on dedicated scanners such as SRS and ABS. The software that pairs with this device is a bit low cost and the update process should be easier, as it requires that you download two files from the manufacturer's website rather than a one button solution. Overall, this is a very high value device that can solve many problems and potentially save a lot of money by not going to the mechanic all the time.
I am a professional auto technician and this tool is great. It is faster to connect, grab diagnostic trouble codes, or check I/M status. Remember, it is a diagnostic tool that will help you find the source or the problem, it doesn't tell you what is wrong. Your research needs to reveal what it is you are not getting. There is no tool that can tell you what is wrong.
Autel told me to update the unit when you purchase it. When I updated the program I did not have DVOM. I emailed Autel's response. I redid the update, and everything worked perfect afterwards. Hello Christopher, The Al539 does not get registered. Please attempt to complete the update once again by following the steps at www.autel.com. Support, updates, firmware, downloads, update client, and downloading MaxiLink II will open that file and install the program. When the program is installed correctly, an icon on the desktop that says MaxiLink II. Now you need to download the software update file pack. Go to www.autel.com, support & updates, firmware & downloads, software update pack, and then open the folder and drag out both files. This is a very important step. Please ensure that the files are on your desktop. Now open the program MaxiLinkII. Double check that you have selected your tool on the left side of the program. Once your tool is selected, you will see the picture of your tool in the bottom left corner of the program. Connect your tool to the PC and put it in update mode by going into the tool's set up menu and update mode. The red box on the top right corner of the program will turn green when the tool is successfully connected and in update mode. In the first box, click select file. Locate the.bin file that is on the desktop, select it, then click open. Now you can go to the second box underneath it, click select file, locate the.aut file, and select and open that. You will see two file names in the empty text files. Wait for it to complete, then click the update button on the first box, then click OK to update your information. Please do not disconnect or swipe this step. Once this update is complete, the tool is now updated. Rather than disconnect it, simply let the tool run.
I purchased this unit for the battery, starter, and charger test. The unit is simple to use and well constructed. I have an Autel Maxisys Elite that I love, as well as an Autel TS-601 for TPMS service, so I decided to add the Autel 539B as my primary battery tester. I am very impressed by the features in this unit notably, an amplicon, voltmeter, and ohmmeter. If you want to upgrade the engine, you should extend the batter cables. It will require some effort. Add the Status of Health SOH, and the Status of Charge SOC readings. I am an engineer and I am attracted to details. If you have more information, it will help the intermediate professional diagnose problems better. Overall, the Autel 539B is a great product, but there is room for improvement. I highly recommend it'
