These publications tend to focus on specific topics such as politics, philosophy, history, science, art, etc., and they often come with beautiful covers and interesting titles. If you enjoy reading, then you might also enjoy reading lists. You can read more about each book below.

What Are Ap Lit Books?

An AP Lit book is an Advanced Placement Literature course for high school students. It is a college level course that allows students to take more advanced courses than what would normally be offered at their schools. The AP Lit class is typically taught during the junior year of high school. Students who complete this course receive credit towards graduation requirements.

Why Should I Read These Books?

You'll also get some insight into famous writers like Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and William Shakespeare. These books will give you a better understanding of the world around you!

Who Needs Ap Lit Books?

The American Library Association has created a list of recommended books for AP Lit students. These titles are intended to supplement the AP Lit curriculum. While these books aren't required, they do offer additional insight into literary works that students could read outside of class.

Some of these books are classics while others are newer releases. But regardless of how old the book is, each one offers its own unique perspective on the world of literature.

"To Kill a Mockingbird" follows Atticus Finch, a lawyer in Maycomb County Alabama during the 1930s. He defends Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a white woman. As the trial progresses, we learn about racism and prejudice in America. We also see how this case affects Scout, Jem, Dill, Boo Radley, and other characters.

"Lord of the Flies" tells the story of a plane crash landing on an island inhabited only by boys. Soon enough, the boys begin fighting amongst themselves. Their society collapses, leaving them vulnerable to violence and chaos.

"Watership Down" takes place during World War II. Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig, and the rest of the rabbits escape from war torn London. They travel through the countryside where they meet new friends along the way. Eventually, they end up in a village called Watership Downs.

Don't forget to use your library. Libraries often offer free access to ebooks and audiobooks. Plus, you can borrow print books. Check your school website to see if your library offers any special programs or discounts. And finally, ask your teacher for recommendations. She or he knows the books that work best for your particular needs.
